Holiday Happenings

       This weekend was filled with holiday parties and plenty of delicious food! Here is a picture of me (Anna) and my boyfriend Mike before going to one of our Christmas parties!

        We love Christmas because it means getting to pull out our Ugly Christmas sweaters! This year was a little different for me because I decided to make my own dress! I had so much fun wearing it! I took an old dress from a high school dance and glued on bows! It was very simple and cheap!
       Although there are many recipes we want to share with you, we decided that we would share a very simple and pretty cake for the holidays with you. This cake is perfect because it doesn't require too many ingredients, and can be thrown together pretty quickly! Not only does it taste delicious, it is pretty festive looking too!

Here is the recipe

1 Box angel food cake
1 tbsp grated orange zest

For the glaze:
1 tsp orange extract mixed with 3 tbsp water
2 cups confectioners' sugar
Top with Fresh pomegranate seeds

Heat oven 350º F
Prepare cake as directed and mix in orange zest, and pour into ungreased tube pan. Bake and let cool, and remove the cake as the package directs.

Mix extract with water and sugar in a bowl until smooth and let the excess drip down the sides and sprinkle top over the sides
